Nurturing Growth, Inspiring Change

KWS is dedicated to creating a better future for communities across Haryana. Through a range of programs, we address critical issues such as education, healthcare, women's empowerment, environmental sustainability, nutrition, and livelihood.

Empowering the Next Generation

Promoting Girl Child Education: KWS is dedicated to educating girls, especially in patriarchal societies. Our campaigns in 200 villages in Nuh, 90 in Rewari, and 30 in Mahendragarh, Haryana, have reduced dropout rates, supporting the ‘Beti Bachao Beti Padhao’ initiative. Education empowers girls to be self-reliant, financially independent, assert gender equality, and reduce their vulnerability to domestic violence.

Computer Training for Girls: We have provided computer education to 250 underprivileged girls from the Government Senior Secondary School in Bhim Nagar, Gurgaon. This six-month training, supported by CSR initiatives, opens new employment avenues and promotes self-reliance among these girls.

Science in Daily Life: To cultivate a scientific mindset, KWS has conducted workshops in rural schools across 18 districts in Haryana. These workshops help demystify ancient practices and encourage logical understanding, fostering a culture of science-based reasoning.

Teachers’ Training on Geometrical Theorems: Our training programs for teachers in Haryana focus on enhancing skills in Mathematics and Science. By providing low-cost teaching aids and skill-based training, we help teachers impart a clearer understanding of geometrical concepts through easy-to-understand experiments and tools.

Planetarium on Wheels: In collaboration with Yuva Manch, our mobile planetarium initiative brings the wonders of the solar system to students in Haryana. This engaging and educational experience helps students grasp astronomical concepts easily and retain the knowledge.

Protecting Our Planet

Tree Plantation: Over the past five years, KWS has planted 10,000 trees in Sehravan ki Dhani, Panchgaon, and Kasan Manesar hills, involving local villagers to promote afforestation and environmental conservation.

Bio-Diversity Management: We have formed Bio-Diversity Management Communities in rural areas to educate villagers on the importance of biodiversity and water conservation, discouraging the use of ponds as landfills and promoting sustainable practices.

Nutrition Workshops: Our 200 workshops in Nuh, Haryana, emphasize healthy eating habits, maternal and child nutrition, and the benefits of growing healthy vegetables in kitchen gardens. We also highlight the significance of incorporating superfoods like millets into daily diets.

Health Check-up Camps: KWS organises health check-up camps across various districts in Haryana, offering free medical consultations and medicines. These camps have benefited numerous individuals by addressing basic health issues and providing essential healthcare services.

Counselling on Mental Health: Recognising the importance of mental health, we incorporate interactive sessions with psychologists during our health camps. These sessions raise awareness and offer guidance on mental well-being.

Health & Hygiene: Our 300 workshops in Nuh and other districts of Haryana focus on promoting hygiene and combating open defecation. These efforts aim to improve public health and sanitation practices.

Nourishing Communities - Health Care & Nutrition

Women's Rights and Empowerment: KWS is dedicated to empowering women through workshops funded by the National Commission for Women (NCW). These sessions address domestic violence, women’s rights, sexual harassment, gender equality, female feticide, and honor killing, fostering awareness and advocacy for women’s issues.

Livelihood Opportunities: Supporting women's economic independence through skill development and market linkages.

Agricultural Interventions: KWS supports 450 SC community farmers in Rewari District through agricultural interventions, focusing on cut flower cultivation as a commercial crop. We also provide marketing assistance to help farmers sell their produce.

Artisan Support: We have selected 700 artisans specializing in handloom, textile, leather, and lac crafts, providing them with new tools for skill enhancement and market linkages to facilitate the sale of their products. This project is conducted in collaboration with the Institute of Environmental and Social Affairs.
